Robert Speece is an emerging tenor whose artistry and academic commitment have earned recognition in both vocal performance and choral leadership. A native of West Lawn, Pennsylvania, Rob graduated from Susquehanna University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and will begin graduate studies in Vocal Performance at New England Conservatory in Fall 2026. During his time at Susquehanna, he pursued a wide range of performance, teaching, and leadership opportunities while maintaining academic honors and earning Dean’s List recognition throughout his undergraduate studies.
His dedication to vocal excellence has been recognized through four consecutive wins at the National Association of Teachers of Singing competitions, as well as multiple prestigious scholarships, including the Reading Choral Society Collegiate Scholarship, Reading Music Foundation Sondheim Memorial Scholarship, Peter Ilagen Memorial Scholarship, and Kathryn Schiffner Memorial Scholarship. His artistic growth has also been enriched by international study through the Orvieto Musica, where he performed as a tenor soloist in the Bach Magnificat.
On stage, Rob brings characters to life with both vocal and dramatic nuance. His operatic and theatrical credits include Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville, Theseus in The Liberation of Theseus, and the False Harlequin in The False Harlequin. His musical theater roles include John Brooke in Little Women, Enjolras in Les Misérables, and Nicely Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls. In concert settings, he has appeared as a featured soloist in the Duruflé Requiem and Händel's Messiah, further demonstrating his stylistic range across sacred and classical repertoire.
A lifelong learner, Rob continues to refine his artistry under the mentorship of Dr. David Steinau and Christopher Hoster. His work as a private voice instructor, student teacher, and founding president of AMP Music Society reflects his belief in the importance of music education and community leadership. With a vision rooted in artistry, education, and service, Robert Speece is building a career that blends performance with purpose.
